Meet the Doula

Hi there! My name is Nicole Dilello and I am the Doula on the Delaware. I am a Birth and Postpartum Doula supporting families in the Southern Tier/ Binghamton, NY area.

As a certified Dancing For Birth™ instructor, I also love teaching expectant parents how they can use music and dance to make the labor process go smoother while having fun at the same time.

How you experience birth matters.

My passion for birth work began in Costa Rica in 2006, after the birth of my firstborn. She was born at home with the support of my loving husband, our midwife and an amazing doula.

My birth left me feeling empowered; like I had just gone through some ancient womanly rite of passage.

I believe in the beauty and joy of birth and I believe in you.

A long-time aspiration of mine had been to become a birth worker. After my fourth birth, my midwife is actually the one that encouraged me to take the leap. And I haven’t looked back since.

Now it is my privilege to help expectant parents prepare for and experience the beauty and joy of pregnancy, childbirth and early parenthood.

My dream is that everyone know how beautiful and empowering birth can be.

Doula on the Delaware family

I am mother to four beautiful children and wife to one very supportive and giving man.

We’ve currently chosen to make our home in a quaint small town in Upstate NY. Our village sits right along the beautiful Delaware River, famous for its fly-fishing.

In my “downtime” I can be found: spending time with my family, getting my hands dirty in the garden, going for walks, knitting/crocheting up a project or getting lost in a book.

Fun fact: I’ve worked in libraries for over 14 years and own way too many books.

Some other random fun facts about me are:

I’m half-Japanese. My mother is third generation Japanese American.

My brother, sister-in-law and 3 nieces live in Costa Rica.

I lived in Costa Rica for 13 years.  Hablo Español!

My husband and I met in Israel.

We have a Main-Coon cat named Mooshoo and 3 guinea pigs named Mocha, Chloe-Sophia and Oatmeal.

We home school our children
